Henry Arlignton - How to Measure a Shirt

A. Collar size

Wrap the tape measure around the widest part of the neck and then add half an inch. Using an existing shirt, measure the collar straight from the button to the furthest end of the buttonhole.

B. Sleeve Length

Measure from the centre back of the neck to the shoulder, then from the shoulder down to the wrist bone. Or using a shirt, measure from the centre back to the shoulder seam and then from the shoulder seam to the end of the cuff.

C. Overall Length

Measure from the centre back underneath the collar, down to the bottom of the hem.

D. Chest Width

Measure the widest part of the chest, just below the armpit and using a shirt, measure flat the width 1cm underneath the armhole and double it.

E. Waist Width

Measure flat with the buttons fastened, from side to side and double the measurement. The waist is located at the slimmest part of the shirt.
